I'll take a break from the series after this book but may come back if I need something light. I'm finding Weis just may not be my style. The book was okay - a little tropey - the audiobook narrator was good. This was my first foray into the Dragonlance Universe. The main cast are an entertaining bunch, each personality greatly contrasting the others. Overall I found the book to be an enjoyable read. For those that don't know, this book serves as an origin story for some of the main characters in the dragonlance books, specifically for the physically weak but intellectual Raistlin. Having not read any dragonlance books prior to reading this one, I approached this with the unique perspective of having no pre-formed bias for the characters. Eccentric characters such as Flint the dwarf and Tas the kender made me Raistlin's competitiveness with Caramon is the classic nerdy brother vs. All characters were fleshed out extremely well for example, I nearly cried when Raistlin and Caramon lost both their parents, I could understand Raistlin's jealously at Caramon stealing his dream girl. I've never been interested in reading or read a book of the fantasy genre before, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is Weis’s first solo trilogy in the Dragonlance world. While following her story, this new trilogy also explores the chaos that is post-war Krynn. Judge Epithetical Books The Soulforge (Dragonlance Universe)I gave the original series all 4s as I devoured them as a long-ago youth and Raistlin is one of my all-time memorable characters. The audio edition of the opening title in a new trilogy from Dragonlance setting co-creator Margaret Weis takes up where the War of Souls series left off with the central character, Mina.

Review 3: Amber and Blood audiobook by Christopher Awesome LOL enjoy the books now to find next Dragonlance audiobook to listen to. would have really liked to see what chemosh said meeting his former death knight. Review 2: Amber and Blood audiobook by Captain Howdy interesting trilogyĪll 3 books are well worth listening to but seems there needs to be another book or 3 following up on the 3 main characters. We invite you to come and meet players from around the world while you earn experience and treasure, take part in quests, solve puzzles, and slay foes. Some DL spin-offs done by other writers are slow & don’t really portray the main characters properly, but stick to the core lore (& good audiobook narrators) & you can’t go wrong. Arctic is an online multi-player fantasy role-playing game loosely based on TSR's Dragonlance novels. Previous tentpole trilogies like (“Chronicles”, “The Chaos Wars”, & especially “War of the Souls”) are needed to set the scene & characters up that you’ll meet on this newer adventure. NOTE: If you’re just now diving into the Dragonlance (DL) world don’t start here. But I have no doubt most Dragonlace fans will approve. Still, the 2nd in this “Mina Finds Herself” Trilogy (Amber & Iron) is probably the best.
